Speciality Processing of Glass Ends

Speciality Processing of Glass Ends
Cracked off or cut
The cut or cracked off surface has a rough texture and sharp edges. Intended mainly for further processing or where the end finish is unimportant.
End finish
Ends fire polished
The ends are fire polished after cracking off or cutting, leaving a very smooth round edge proving protection from splintering of the edges. Fire polishing also reseals the surface of the glass edge weakened during the cutting process.
End finish
Ground, chamfered inside and outside, also available fire polished
Smooth surfaces and edges. The smoothed area on the inside and outside gives protection against chipping and damage to equipment used in assembly with the glass tube.
End finish
Ground square and parallel
Both ends of the tube are ground square and parallel to meet exacting standards.
End finish
Special end finishes
The tube ends are chamfered externally and/or internally according to customer specifications.
End finish
External step
Steps are ground externally at the tube ends according to customer specifications. This permits exact centring when installing the tubes or the fitting of external devices.
End finish
Defined constriction or flare at the ends
The tube ends are constricted or flared according to customer specifications to restrict the flow or ease the entry into the glass tube.
